I am trying to find new ways to love myself

on

Every day, in the shower, I find new ways
to make love to myself. My heart speaks
to my fingers: love me.

I know that the waves of pleasure rising
from my nerve endings, sending
my heart racing, isn’t love

So, I try again, eyes shut
mind in another place,
hips thrust out, mouthing the words:

I love you.

Owkay! These plenty quirky lines….they tell a particularly piquant tale! While am all for self-love, I also feel like we oughta know where to draw the line so we don’t get caught up, thereby veering and teetering off of the edge. That can prove super unhealthy and coming back may be near-impossible.

‘You, yourself; as much as anybody in the entire universe deserve your love and affection’ as affirmed by Buddha. I’m of the opinion that we can only give what we have. Showing love to others becomes that much easier, when we love ourselves wholeheartedly.

Oscar Wilde surmises that ‘To love oneself is the beginning of a life-long romance’. So yeah, treat yourself to a day at the spa, whisk yourself off to some magical getaway…wine and dine at a ritzy restaurant, go see your favorite movie at the cinemas , laugh heartily at your own jokes, go shopping and just splurge till you drop, go bungee jumping or skydiving if you’ve got balls πŸ˜ˆπŸ˜†; just look out for yourself and jump through hoops for no-one. ..unless they do same for you. Bottomline, show yourself a heck of a good funtime! These and more are ways I’d employ in doting on myself. πŸ˜„

That said, I love the concept of one who’s deep into self. Like one who’s got a deep thing for self. The intent is totally noble and genuine, which makes this piece one of its own kind….unique! πŸ˜‚ Nicely conceived Doc! πŸ‘πŸ˜„

      Thanks Yemie..
We find, sometimes, that all the love we crave is right within ourselves, and if we let ourselves, we would find it.

Self love. An all important component of the balanced mind. Key to a happy life. Methinks this fellow is unlikely to achieve this in the shower. I could be wrong though. What do you think, dear Shrink?
Lovely piece, deep too. You did good with this one.

So, what do you think?
