Even when your wings are broken,

Pierced through with darts and arrows,

And you nosedive, from thousands of feet

Land with a thud, on the cold earth

Bruised and bloodied, life ebbing out of you.

Especially when all you feel is despair,

And your body is screaming in agony,

When your muscles ache and revolt,

And standing seems an impossible feat.

Let your fall be a prologue to your glory;

Whilst there is life, limitless are the possibilities

Rise, like a phoenix from the ashes.

Against all odds

Fly. Just. Fly

  1. A most befitting poem with real meaningful lines to herald in your ‘homecoming’! I gotta say Doc, that you’ve still got it in ample folds and what’s especially striking ’bout this piece is that it encourages the need to keep going, inspite of the many obstacles trying so desperately hard to hamper one’s upward movement and progress! Definitely a Cheerleader’s delight….soul-lifting, highly motivating, just awesomeness! Positivity all around! I likey! 😄 The alignment of the lines are super-cool and cute too! 😃😄

You go buddy, this totally rocks; much like you and that aint surprising, nuh-uh! Double👍👍up! 😁😃

  2. *rummaging for words to start an apt intro*

The lines speak! No difficulty can conveniently and totally dictate what happens tomorrow, at least without our permission. The resolve to fly and defy odds makes a whole lot of difference.

The line on the fall and prologue to glory carries a massive weight. I think I just etched that somewhere safe within.

BBM smileys can’t possibly depict the version of surprise I had on my face at the end of the piece. Last time I got a dedication was in secondary school; half a plot of land (forest, actually) was “dedicated” to me to weed!

This of course, I appreciate. Gracias Sir! Cheers to flight to great heights.

half a plot “dedicated” to you….now who was the nice guy that did that to you?

me know if this is happening to them as well? This could be a problem with my
browser because I’ve had this happen previously. Thanks
