Because…

I saw this house, set against the back drop of nature, standing alone,
I gawked and drew near
Because…
It tugged at my heart strings,
I approached, traversing long winding paths,
That drew me higher;
I panted with every step
From exhaustion and exhilaration-
A heady mix;
It was no mean feat, my muscles screamed in protest,
My heart danced to frenzied beats,
Just because…
Standing close, it towered,
My stomach plummeted, I hesitated
At the sight of the walls- tall, imposing
The gates were closed, and made of lead,
I longed to walk in the gardens,
To lie down amidst the trees in the orchard,
It was an ache that was soul deep;
I girded my tunic and attempted the bizarre,
Just because…
Nothing would deter me from my quest, I was determined,
I huffed and puffed at the zenith,
The ground below was an abyss,
I lurched, and landed with a thud,
I made it!
And every step was worth it,
Every bruise a worthy sacrifice
Because…
This is where I call home now,
This is the place my heart has chosen to stay;
It is possible with just one look
To know where you want to spend the rest of your life,
To know who your happiness lies with,
Because…
Love is crazy that way.

    Damn Doc, the imageries on display here’s BANGING and I’ll tell you why….

    First up, you fool me NOT, with these ‘illusions’ of a house as rendered in the sizzling lines of this masterpiece of a poetry and that’s besides the fact that I behold an exotic picture of a Great Manor…. a lovely castle! Been awhile you made use of illustrations, I’ve really missed those! Nice one but still……😊

    So, am getting this vibe…of this ‘home’ being spoken bout here as actually God’s wonderfully and fearfully sculpted masterpiece ever made, an ONLY edition; not limited…..THE WOMAN! AHA! Gotcha!!! πŸ˜†πŸ˜‚

    You see, the Narrator, male; discovers this lone, beautiful maiden who tugged at his heartstrings and gave him the butterflies! He then attempts to conquer and make her his very own; against all odds….’ Gates were closed and made of lead, he longed to walk in the gardens…….’! Having conquered her as evidenced by his ‘huffing and puffing at the zenith’, bruises notwithstanding; he finally does claim her as his own! Emerging victorious on his quest and realizing most importantly; that treasures (his feelings towards his woman and beloved) are stored, preserved in his heart and home (his woman and prize), is where his heart is! Simply put, she’s everything and everthing’s her! If you ask me Doc, then I do daresay the Chicken has finally come home to roost and perhaps, with this masterpiece up here; our ever present gloomy Narrator; forever lamenting the loss of a great love, is perhaps been laid to rest and in his place; another, who’s experienced that ‘light bulb’ moment, enough to know that for a fact; there’s indeed life after love! For shizzie! πŸ˜‰πŸ˜„

    This is sheer brill Doc, ‘absoolutely’ dig the use of the imageries in addition to the certain beauty those words carry in perfect articulation! You’re an amazeball Sir; straight up! πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘ŠπŸ˜‰
