Running Wild

Running into the light

Away from the dark night

Away from the realm of fright;

A place where shadows are a blight

And where all things are bright;

Where beauty is the heart’s delight

And where ugliness in its slight

Cannot be found; there is no fight

Nor pain, no panic nor the sleight

Of hand that fate tricks the sight

With. Climbing upwards to a height

Far above limitations; taking flight

And soaring, wild and free.

  1. Very nice, the last word rhyme scheme, I would assume like most things is more difficult than it initially appears. I love this.

    Topazo, this is a beautiful piece. Rhyming scheme looks easy but must have taken some hard work and thinking

    1. topazo says:

      Rhyming is never that easy…and sometimes trying for a rhyme stifles the flow..

  5. theinkheart says:

    Is it just me or this is a poem for the afterlife?

    1. topazo says:

      Nice perspective… the beauty of poetry is the different dimensions to it…
